Paul is the son of an airline employee, traveled extensively with his family. He was born in Passaic, New Jersey, but the family came to settle in Kansas City where Paul graduated from high school. Paul went on to major in theater at the University of Kansas. A Spencer Tracy Scholarship, his second year, enabled him to enroll in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. In conjunction with his studies, Paul attended a workshop at the British Drama Academy at Oxford University. Paul helped produce the Howard Brenton play, "Bloody Poetry", at the Globe Theater. He also played the role of Hamlet in the play of the same name, directed by the famous actor, Ben Kingsley. Paul Rudd made guest appearances on popular TV series such as "Moonlighting" and "Sisters". He also appeared in TV movies and mini-series. His first big screen appearance was with Alicia Silverstone in "Clueless". The next year he appeared opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes in "Romeo & Juliet". To his list of London theatre, TV, and screen appearances, Paul can now add his Broadway stint in "The Last Night of Ballyhoo". Paul was to be in 200 Cigarettes but he is no longer in it. "Twelfth Night" - New York Theatre - Stage production
this summer (1998) at Lincoln Center. Co-stars will be Helen Hunt
and Kyra Sedgwick.
