Background - Born and raised in LA.  Got her degree in biology from Vassar in upstate New York.  She took acting lessons in LA. 

Improv - Lisa was persuaded to audition for an LA improvisational comedy troupe called the Groundlings.  After many auditions she was accepted. 

First Roles - After improv, Lisa made appearances on "Cheers", "Coach", and "Newhart".  Her first memorable role was that of Ursula on "Mad About You". 

TV Fame - Lisa's popularity as Ursula led to her role of Phoebe in "Friends".  The producers decided to make them twins and Lisa is seen in her role on "Friends" and in her recurring role on "Mad About You". 

Screen Debut - Kudrow has had a few small roles through the years, but her starring role came in "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" with Mira Sorvino. 

Personal - Lisa married French-born Michel Stern co-owner of a Los Angeles ad agency on May 27, 1995.
