soap operas to Broadway to the silver screen and he has been making his
presence known since the late 70's.
Girl Gone - Kevin Bacon will direct his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, in the the psychological drama "Girl Gone". Kevin had his directorial debut in the 1996 "Losing Chase". "Girl Gone" follows Sedgwick as a stripper who struggles to solve and comprehend the violent murder of her closest friend. Shooting on the under $5 million production will begin fall 1998. Reported 27 May 1998. Background -Kevin attended the Circle in the Square Theater school with the distinction of being one of the youngest to be admitted. After paying his dues in many small roles, he got a part in "Animal House". The play "Slab Boys", his Broadway debut, had him sharing the stage with unknowns Val Kilmer and Sean Penn. Ever flexible he went from Broadway to the soap opera "Guiding Light" to the '84 film "Footloose" for which he is constantly asked to reprise his dancing scene. His acting encompasses a great range; comedy, drama, music. His Golden Globe nomination for his performance in "The River Wild" attests to this. Kevin and his brother, Michael, have formed a band - The Bacon Brothers. The name just about says it all. They play folk, rock, and soul in some small clubs in the east. Kevin has been around a long time and has performed in every facet of the business. This could be the reason he was picked for the game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon".
