Born on September 28, 1964, Emmy-nominated comedienne, Janeane Garofalo,
who began her career as a stand up comic and movie extra, now has her own
production company.
Watch for Janeane Garofalo in a large selection of 1999 movie release.
Background: Born and raised in New Jersey
until her senior year in high school when her family moved to Houston,
Texas. Garofalo attended college in Rhode Island. It was there
where she found her niche and got the bug by performing at an open-mike
night. After moving to Los Angeles, Garofalo became a guest comedienne
in many of the popular comedy/variety shows.
First starring role: After many bit
parts and walk-ons, Garofalo ran away with the hit movie, "The Truth About
Cats and Dogs". Her co-star was Uma Thurman, but critics attribute
Garofalo's performance as the reason it was a box-office hit.
Production Company: Janeane has started
her own production company entitled I Hate Myself Productions.
Family: Janeane is the daughter of
Carmine and Joan Garofalo.
