Hanson (Isaac Hanson, Taylor Hanson, Zachary Hanson) are three popular
young men and they return in year 2000 with a new CD.
Hanson CD
Hanson is back with the release of their new CD, This
Time Around, on 9 May 2000.
Hanson Who? - Hanson is three close knit brothers: Isaac,
Taylor
and Zachary. They are better known as Ike,
Tay, and Zac. See the comparison Hanson Birthday
Countdown Table. Hailing from Tulsa, Oklahoma, they spent a few years
singing at fairs, festivals and the popular new venue for mini-concerts
- shopping malls. Finally it was one of these shopping mall gigs that took
them to the top of that rollercoaster. In late spring of 1997, The three
performed at the Paramus Park Mall in Paramus, New Jersey. They had been
signed by Mercury Records and Hanson's record MMMBop was a hit, climbing
higher in the charts every day. They had a following of thousands of squealing
and screaming fans. (For the older generations - remember Frank Sinatra,
Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Duran Duran? Okay, you've got the picture).
Soon articles about Hanson were popping up in the popular magazines,
"People", "Rolling Stone", "US", and every teen magazine
known to mankind, even those in foreign countries. Hanson has had TV guest
appearances on the "Today Show", "Live With Regis and Kathie
Lee" and "Saturday Night Live".
Irresistible - "MMMBop" is contagious, it's something that stays
with you long after the song has ended. They are contagious - you see them
and hear them and you want more. Young girls, mothers, grandmothers - all
have found these young men irresistible.
Do It Themselves - The Hanson clan write and sing their own songs.
The inspiration for their songs comes from everyday life and, of course,
girls. They play their own instruments. Hanson music has a definite 50's
rock influence, possibly helped along by their parents who are both musically
gifted. Their mom and dad were always singing and making up songs. So the
brothers grew up in a home where music was part of their daily lives. And
they spend a lot of time in that home because they don't go to school.
The brothers are home schooled and it seems to be working very well.
Been There - Done That - In just a short time, the three brothers
have been at the top, have toured Europe, have made music videos, have
recorded their own special holiday CD, have appeared on the "Rosie O'Donnell
Show", have had a book written about them, have a home video, and of
course, what started it all, their album "Middle of Nowhere". Oh,
in case you don't know, Isaac plays guitar, Taylor plays keyboard and is
the lead singer, and Zac plays drums. There's a lot more to come from this
talented trio, and maybe just a slightly different sound, Zac's voice is
changing.
"Weird" - Hanson chose the Oprah Winfrey Show to debut
their new single, "Weird". The only guests on the Feb. 16 show,
Isaac, Taylor and Zac performed to an audience made up of devoted teenaged
females. The video of "Weird", also just released, was directed
by Gus Van Sant. He was the director of the Oscar nominated movie,
"Good Will Hunting".
