Star of the Broadway stage and early television, Gena Rowlands made
her screen debut in 1958 in "The High Cost of Loving". Gena Rowlands
received best actress Academy Award nominations for her roles in "A
Woman Under the Influence" and "Gloria". Proving herself the
consummate actress, Ms Rowlands received Emmys for her roles in "The
Betty Ford Story" and "Face of a Stranger."
Gena Rowlands was the wife of actor/director John Cassevettes who died
in 1989. Their son, Nick, is following in his father's footsteps and has
directed his mother in two films, "Unhook the Stars" and "She's
So Lovely".
