Edward plays the role of Private Reiben in the movie "Saving
Private Ryan" released 24 July 1998 from DreamWorks.
Background - Born and raised in New York,
attended Catholic grammar and high schools. Played basketball in
college. Was an English major and film-studies minor at SUNY-Albany.
Transferred to Hunter College to study film Went on to work as a
production assistant for Entertainment Tonight.
Career Highlights - Burns tried to write
a novel, but realized that his writing strength is in dialogue. His
first film "The Brothers McMullen" won Indie Awards. He followed
with two more award-winning and well-received films, "She's t e One" and
"No Looking Back".
DreamWorks Deal - Burns has a three-year
deal with DreamWorks where they have "first look" at any of his projects.
In the Works - Burns is currently writing
a film about his fathers' New York precinct called "The Two Five".
DreamWorks will make it.
Family - Burns grew up in an Irish-Catholic
home, his father and four uncles were all New York cops. His mother
a homemaker. His brother Brian is a year younger and they have a
production company called "Irish Twins Productions". Edward
writes movies and Brian writes for TV.
