Jeff, the founding member of 98 Degrees had moved to LA a few years
ago to pursue a singing career. He formed a group and one of the
members suggested that Nick would be a perfect counterpart. Nick
headed west and joined. Justin and Drew were the next to move to
the land of the 'left ocean' and the 98 Degrees was formed.
Big Break
Backstage at a Boyz II Men show they met manager Paris D'Jon.
Jon later heard them on a local radio show. He contacted them and
realized that they were very serious about becoming professional.
Soon they were performing on the road with R&B artist Montell Jordan.
Receiving raves for their live performances, the record label buzz began.
98 Degrees happily signed with Motown.
First Album
Their first album - 98° was released in July of 1997. The
debut album's single "Invisible Man" reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100
Pop Singles Chart.
