Neve plays Suzie, a high school girl that has information related to the accused raping of high school student Kelly Van Ryan by the high school counselor Sam Lombardo. Sam gets in deep trouble and seeks the help of lawyer Ken Bowden. As the trial nears, the detective Ray discovers that nothing is really as it appears to be. 

The story takes place in the swamps of the Florida Everglades and at the tony yachting enclave of Blue Bay. Kelly is the teen socialite. Sandra is Sam's former lover. Kevin Bacon plays the detective. Matt Dillon plays the charismatic guidance counselor who is trying to sleep his way into the Blue Bay society.
